In early 2018, RCPD created a Youth Services Unit to enhance RCPD’s efforts to build relationships with local schools and youth through youth-focused programs. The Unit is comprised of Sergeant Hatzenbuhler, three School Resource Officers, and the Rancho Cordova Police Activities League. Being part of this unit is one of the most rewarding assignments in his career. Sergeant Hatzenbuhler believes that connecting with youth at a young age is a fundamental aspect of his job.
